Research Interest

🔬Postdoctoral Research Fellow | Microbial Pathogenesis & Adaptation | Burkholderia bacteria expert

As an early-career researcher, my objective is to connect fundamental biology with applied research to create long-lasting therapies, predictive instruments, and customized diagnostics that can outsmart bacterial resistance.

I focus on Burkholderia bacteria — a genus recognized for its remarkable adaptability, along with phenotypic and genomic plasticity. These bacteria serve as both potent environmental allies, aiding agriculture and plant development, and as formidable opportunistic pathogens capable of inducing severe infections such as melioidosis and 'cepacia syndrome' in immunocompromised patients or people suffering from cystic fibrosis. Mortality rates may reach as high as 50%.
