Understand bacterial adaptation

Exploring the effects of host and treatment on bacterial adaptation through a One Health approach and multi-omics integration.

Reveal the impact of multi-microorganism communities on colony morphotype variation

Network of my collaboration has always been a vital aspect of my work. It enables me to connect with various professionals and leverage diverse expertise, leading to innovative solutions and successful outcomes. Building strong relationships through collaborative efforts enriches my experience and enhances the quality of projects I undertake.

Collaborations
Find new solutions to antimicrobial resistance

By enhancing our understanding of bacterial adaptation and using multi-omics to proteins modulated by bacteria during their adaptation to hosts, we can ensure that the upcoming generation of treatments will be effective in the long term, while also advancing diagnostic methods and ultimately predicting bacterial adaptation to improve patient management.

In their natural habitats and during infections, bacteria do not exist in isolation; they are surrounded by diverse communities. Therefore, it is crucial to comprehend how these communities affect bacterial adaptation.

Recently, I have been giving the opportunity to integrate multi-omics data (metagenomics, metabolomics and lipodomics) on soil samples for a research project led by A/Prof Bart Eijkelkamp with SARDI.
